I'm sad, I understand the Cape is going to be canceled. A show like the Cape needs a chance to grow and find its audience. It's just got too many pieces that need to be tinkered with till it becomes a well oiled machine. Even an excellent show like the Buffy the Vampire Slayer didn't hit full tilt crazy til after the first season.
Oh well.
This stirring episode starts with our hero suffering from a bad case of broken ribs. He mopes. The Carnival when not trying to break into a safe tells him to take a day off. Well he tries, and keeps an eye on his son who is still having a tough time with everyone thinking his daddy was a bad guy. What the Cape doesn't know is he's being stalked by two assassins.
Compared with the weirdos we've met already Goggles and Hicks are pretty normal. Goggles is in a wheelchair and basically plays Goofy Creepy Nerd. Hicks doesn't talk much. Goggles tells Chess "You don't want to meet Hicks. People who meet him die." Together they are the Chariot (Because of the wheelchair get it?) in the secret group of assassins called Tarot.
So these two charmers spy on the Cape. They find all his weaknesses and his secret identity. Oddly they don't do a damn thing with the information. Instead they use a drone and later Hicks comes in a blazing after the Cape. The Cape takes care of these two really way too easily and even beaten and his brother in jail, Hicks still won't use the information they gathered on the cape or give it to Chess.
Lame.
The big new plot point is the son gains a friend. I don't know if he really wants bat shit kid as a friend, but like a barnacle he clings. Any kid with this line of dialog, "I saw a werewolf once. Well, I found its droppings and that counts. I kept them in a jar, wanna see?" is probably not someone you want to associate with.
