Well if you mix Roger Corman's eighties films like "Galaxy of Terror," with "Doom," "Event Horizon," "Alien," and "Pandorum" you might get "The Dark Lurking." Reminds me of graveyards, not the place but the drinks. We'd go to the general store in Klickitat and the guy would give us a bit of everything in the soda fountain and he called it a graveyard. It was sweet but tended to lead to car sickness.
As for the movie I'll just always wonder why the chain link fence was there.
I like how the trailer doesn't even pretend that there is a plot. It just shows you a lot of stuff blowing up and slimy things getting shot. This could be the greatest film ever made.
ReplyDeleteWell, that might be over stating things.
Chad,
ReplyDeleteMay I call you chad? Anyway, it's always been one of the joys and curses of B (and C, and D, and F) cinema that the trailers tend to be ten times better than actual product.
Not always applicable to only those 'lower' rated films... So many times the hype to get you into a movie is all the good content of the movie, even in mainstream...
ReplyDeletegranted but it's rarer for a studio mainstream film to be an absolute dog. Generally at worst you get something utterly banal
