Villainy and Blackguards Incorporated #12: The Wynters

Villains and Blackguards Incorporated (VABI) is an organization found on Earth 32aa which has dedicated itself to protecting the interest of those of differently enabled morality and enhanced humanity. They take care of legal expenses and investments. It has become a very successful organization and is considering spreading to other Earths. In case they do here are some of it's members.



VABI is indebted to the Wynter family for allowing a permanent base on Wyntervail Island and granting us diplomatic status. It allows VABI to have an open presence within Europe. Many of our media events come from Wyntervail Island.

The Wynters are no stranger to the media themselves. For ninety years the Wynters have commanded headlines in one form or another. Ever since the first Lord Wynter arose in 1922 to take a small island in the English Channel. It has never been explained to everyone's satisfaction as to why Britain allowed him to keep it. The consensus is that Lord Wynter somehow had either a sizeable bribe or some terrible blackmail. In any case, he renamed Wyntervail and has been an independent (if small) nation since then.

Nearly all of the Wynters have shown some ability to mentally summon and control ice and cold. Some have become truly powerful forces in the world. Perhaps the most powerful was Uber Wynter who arose to power in the mid sixties. He actually brought about a global ice age until it was reversed by a motley collection of heroes using the Dreamstone.

Currently the Island is ruled by Callista Wynter. She married the last Lord Wynter so she does not have any ice powers. She is a capable leader and a shrewd politician. Her children do have ice powers. Kelvin Wynter is the most powerful but unfortunately he also has to wear environmental armor to keep from drowning in air. Charles Wynter, on the other hand, can manage to put ice in glass. He doesn't really need anything else since he has made a career of haunting the better watering holes of Europe. Their sister Erisady has a career as a supermodel, but in self defense she can freeze a human chest in less than ten seconds.
