MicMacs

Remember "Toys?" You know Robin Williams playing a befuddled man child. "MicMacs," reminds me a lot of like a French version of "Toys." Both have as a central theme that if we are just guided by child like innocence and are fey and twee enough we can over come all the money grubbing, violence mongers of the world. This goes back to a lot of sixties films as well where "Flower Power" saves the world.

Yeah well bull crappieola on that boys and girls. Sorry, but I have to suspend more disbelief to buy that happy horse pucky that all the harry potter movies combined. You aren't going to save the world with a smile and a contortionist in the ice box.

On the other hand, this is film with a contortionist in the ice box, which beats the little guy that turns on and off the light any day. Basically, we have a guy who was shot in the head but survives. The bullet is still in him and can kill him at any time. He becomes mixed up with wacky homeless people who are busy fixing and collecting life's little floatsom. Each has a special skill from being able to measure anything at a glance to well being a contortionist in the ice box. Anyway, they decide to help our hero get even with the company that made the bullet that's now in his head.

Off to the wacky hijinks. Woo hoo.

This flick looks wonderful and is somewhat charming. It's just a little too ... sweet. I mean I should check my blood afterwards.
