Things I Want: A Tricorder
We've completely lapped Star Trek as far as communication. Our smart phones would kick their communicator's butt. We still don't have transporters, but I'm with McCoy on that one and would politely decline to have my molecules scrambled. What we really don't have that I'd like is a system to scan items and get an indepth understanding of what they are. So, I'd like a tricorder. No doubt there's a trick to reading one, but I'm sure I'd pick it up. Then it would be fun to go to parties and go... Bzzzzzzz "Ah you are .02% scotch at the moment."
