lupin III; the castle of cagliostro

This is simply a beautiful and fun film.  I've always loved it and have taken half of my nom de weird from it.  It is just one part of a large amount of movies and TV series involving the artful thief Lupin III.  Supposedly the grandson of the french thief Lupin, this Lupin tools around the world robbing and somehow doing more good than bad.  With a crack shot and a crazed samurai as close pals he's generally ready for any craziness.  To make matters more fun he's always being chased by Inspector Zenigata, and he's always chasing the amoral Fujiko.

In this film, he and his pals are searching for counterfeiters.  They find themselves in a small european country ruled by evil Count Cagliostro.  There they get involved in an epic adventure involving a pretty lady and an ancient mystery involving two rings and a treasure.  The Count has hundreds of servants and goons and very strange looking armored crab ninjas.  He also has a castle filled with death traps.  Lupin has his wits, the world's smallest car, and the monkey like ability to climb nearly anything.  Will Lupin save the girl and solve the mystery?  Will Zenigata finally catch Lupin?  Well since there are many films made after this you can probably guess the answers, but this is still just a lot of fun.  It's also beautifully animated and just a joy to watch.
