State Heroes: Utah

Some of the states come a cropper when it comes to proper super hero representation. You can bet Utah would not be one. Even if there wasn't a proper hero in the state you can bet that the church would bring in a ringer as long as he was of the faith. The hero they would ultimately pick would be a simple man of incorruptible moral goodness....

... and the poor sod wouldn't understand why the late night comics make fun of him. Why some groups, specially civil rights groups would be leery of associating with him. Perhaps he should have chosen better. While representing his purity and humble nature, a hero named Mr. White will be questioned.

  1. Last summer we did a post apocalyptic game. The system is called Leftovers, it hasn't been published (at this point I don't know if it will or not). It was done up by a friend of mine who has designed some supplements for cubicle 7, etc. his name is Mike Olson. Good guy, damn good DM. The setting for leftovers is a really cool concept too it is a post Cthulhu/elder gods apocalypse setting. Anyway my own sub setting for the game that I came up with was a Utah setting (we live in Utah so I just did the hometown setting so to speak). But we had Salt Lake City as a huge hole in the ground (nuke strike perhaps) and the great Salt Lake was slowly draining into it. Part of the city was preserved and a band of cannibalistic mutants was led by a truly horrifying monster they called "Brigham" ... fun game ... we had alot of fun poking fun at how the Mormons would cope with life in the post apocalypse. Actually my take was they'd probably do better to some extent due to their strong focus on family structure, disaster preparedness (believe it or not they all have like months worth of supplies ... their church encourages it), etc. But it was still a romp of a game with alot of funny moments due to the Mormon aspect.

  2. "...incorruptible moral goodness." Definitely wide open for interpretation as some of what happens in Utah stays in Utah!

    @Lord-
    Sounds like a great game! Fun to just hear about even.
