Thirst

A few years back a little film called "Open Water" made a bit of a splash. A couple was stranded in the ocean and the film was a gritty account of their survival. "Thirst," is in the same genre but like a good martini it is a good deal more dry.

Four people decide it's a good idea to go into the hinterland of the desert for a photoshoot. Now I grew up in the Mojave, the high desert. I know there are a couple of things you do before you go out on the back roads in that country. First you tell people where you are going, and second you make sure you have plenty of water in the trunk.

Three guesses what these geniuses don't do.

And I'm not being totally sarcastic there. One is going through med school and she's pretty smart. Smart enough to do brain surgery with a screw driver and a rock and having it work. Yes. Screwdriver and a rock. Thank you movie. The film is full of little tidbits like that as our gang dwindle and do what they can to survive. Ah, the things they try to drink would make a buzzard gag. Oh, and they are being followed by the coyote/wolf that caused their original accident in the first place. Overall it isn't a bad film, but it certainly something of an endurance marathon for the audience. Certainly not everyone's cup of fluids.
