Django

This is one the better of the original Italian oater epics. In this one we have Django, a mysterious drifter draging a coffin behind him. He goes to a small town menaced by racist ex-southern soldiers and mexican revolutionaries. Soon Django gets between them and reveals that his coffin has something special.

This is a fascinating film. Action filled, loud and vulgar it also tries to be incredibly obviously symbolic. Oddly this works. This is so totally watchable. At once both camp and emotionally involving.

  1. My Mother would love to watch this!!! And if that isn't Elvis singing the theme song then it's a good copy!

  2. It gets a little bloody by the end but not by today's standard. Yes that's a fun theme song. There are about 30 sequels/rip offs of Django but there was only one true with with the star Franco Nero.
