Prey

You wouldn't think there would be a lot of giant killer pig movies, but actually they do crop up it seems once every couple of years. I've seen an Austrailian one, a Japanese version, and of course Pig Hunt which was a down home american version. So why not have the French join in?

In this version of the tale our fearless french hunters are after the mutated pigs to keep a secret. That secret is of course that the pigs have been mutated. Seems like someone messed with the fertilizer formula at the local factory and the results have seeped into the water. So of course calling the police is out of the question. Shame, because it turns out those boars are bigger, meaner, and smarter than they thought.

Soon they become the prey.

The actors and script keep the story going and the tension tight. I liked the pacing and I like the early scenes where the boars were just suggested movement in the thick vegetation. Later on the night shots while effective were just a tad too dark for me. I really couldn't see much of what was happening. Over all though a good foreign horror film if you aren't allergic to subtitles.
