I've never really cared for Rene Zellweger. Her face is all pinchy and her voice is all pitchy. Just not my thing, specially since she seems to find her way into romantic comedies with regularity. Still, she fits real well in her role here as a harried but still caring social worker. She's assigned case 39 which involves a cute little girl ad her creep parents. Of course things aren't what they seem and the cute girl is some evil thing.
This is by the numbers but still fun. I love the Ian MacShane scenes which are a fine spice dusted of the film. If you like horror this won't disappount you too mcuh
