Warehouse 13

So what is up with the folks at Syfy? Sometimes it feels like they are most schzoid channel in cable. These are the folks that thought; "hmmm wrestling is sfyf right?" These are the folks who can't spell "sf." These are the folks who think it's a good idea to give Hanna Montana's daddy money to do a tv show where he and a bunch of meddling kids hunt ghosts. These are the people who can't generally make even a good bad film. They just keep making bad bad films and lordy does it hurt.

On the other hand, they greenlit the rebirth of Battlestar galatica and actually redeemed the entire concept. They have done a good job with "Eureka" and "Haven." I really enjoyed the miniseries "The Lost Room." And as far as good bad films go "Mega Piranha" had me laughing and gave Tiffany a career boost.

Which brings us to Warehouse 13. Is it from the good syfy people or the bad ones? Generally, I'll have to say it comes from the good ones. The concept is simple, a shadowy organization recruits two go getters to go get the weird and strange stuff floating around and "bag it and tag it." They are helped by Artie who might have spent way too much time in a warehouse full of reality altering geegaws. The series plays fast and fun. The actors, especially the fellow playing Artie, are all likeable. It doesn't have the depth of say "Lost," but there's nothing wrong with good shallow entertainment.

  1. Yes and my cockatoos have learned to make the Myka face--upper way out over lower....

The Lost Room was nicely done, don't think I realized it was a Sci-Fi production....says something, don't it?
