Is it a sin to like this?

I've become quite the fan of the web comic "Sinfest."  It has a wonderful light drawing style that is like newspaper comics with a hint of manga.  It doesn't have an overarching story so much as returning again and again to themes of  religion and ethics. It's held together by smart writing and good characters.  There are devils, and angels, and us lowly mortals.  There are talking stoner pigs, and cats and dogs that act pretty much like cats and dogs.  My favorites are a pair of young lovers.  They are fairly star crossed and screwed up because he's a rather bookish mortal and she's a girl from hell who manages to sneak up to Earth for some snuggles.  I find it very touching for some reason.

For those who are faithful, any faith really, there might be some things to offend.  I don't think though that the artist/writer is being mean or mocking.  I always get the impression he's very confused and bemused by all this and wish that hell girls or God would pop up now and again to at least give a hint about what's going on.  My advice, though, is if you find something in the strip offensive keep reading because a little ways down the line he'll poke fun at someone else's sacred cow/pig/book/golden tablet.

Anyway, give it a look.  It's over here at http://www.sinfest.net/
